Pegula gets standing ovation before the game

Buffalo Bills fans greeted the second owner in team history with a lengthy standing ovation and full throated chants of Terry before this afternoon game in Orchard Park against the New England Patriots.

The new era of ownership under Terry Pegula and his wife, Kim, officially kicked off today in the stadium named after the previous owner, Ralph Wilson, who died in March. NFL owners approved the Pegulas purchase of the team Wednesday, a move greeted with a giant sigh of relief by fans who worried that new ownership would move the Bills to Toronto or Los Angeles.

It wasn immediately clear from where in the stadium Terry and Kim Pegula were watching the game. The four Pegula children watched much of the first half from the Bills sideline.

Before the game, the Pegulas hosted a VIP tailgating party attended by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, Sen. Charles E. Schumer, lieutenant governor candidate Kathy Hochul and Patriots owner Robert Kraft, among others.
